Relocation of Gallus Printing Press for Global Packaging Manufacturer
VIG recently undertook a project for a global packaging manufacturer, relocating a Gallus printing press along with its infeed and outfeed systems. This project was completed within 17 days and involved a dedicated team consisting of two riggers, two fitters, and an electrician. Central to the operation was an 8-tonne electric forklift, which was essential for moving the large, heavy machinery in a controlled and precise manner.
The relocation presented several challenges, one of the most critical being the limited space in which the infeed machine had to be installed. The process of top-and-tailing the machine in such a tight space required specialised handling and extensive experience. Despite these constraints, our team managed to deliver the project ahead of schedule, thanks to their deep knowledge and familiarity with Gallus printing presses. This experience allowed the team to navigate potential obstacles and streamline the process, ensuring minimal disruption and a smooth transition.
