The Challenge: Consolidating Multiple Aerospace Facilities Without Compromising Continuity
Following Meggitt’s acquisition by Parker Hannifin, the client required the consolidation of five aerospace manufacturing facilities into a new flagship build at Ansty Park, Coventry. The works formed part of a broader strategic investment programme and demanded absolute confidence in quality, safety, and programme certainty.
The relocation involved transferring operational manufacturing assets from multiple live sites, including Loughborough, Shepshed, Stevenage, and existing operations at Ansty Park, into a single, highly regulated aerospace environment. Each facility had its own machinery, utilities, and compliance requirements, requiring a carefully managed approach to disconnection, transport, reinstallation, and recommissioning.
Given the specialist nature of aerospace manufacturing, there was no tolerance for error. Electrical and mechanical systems had to be safely disconnected, protected, relocated, and reinstated with full traceability, certification, and compliance. All works needed to align with both OEM requirements and Meggitt’s internal safety and quality standards, while maintaining close coordination with multiple stakeholders across the programme.
Our Solution: Turnkey, In‑House Delivery Through Trusted Partnership
Working under a Framework Agreement, we delivered a fully turnkey solution, project managing the relocation process for all five facilities from initial disconnection through to safe restart under Meggitt supervision. We worked closely with individual discipline and facility owners to plan each move, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum clarity throughout the project.
Our in‑house teams carried out electrical disconnections from distribution boards and busbars through to isolation at machine level, wherever this was not completed by OEMs. Machinery was mechanically dismantled, carefully packaged, and transported to Coventry before being reinstalled within the new build facility.
At Ansty Park, we installed new low‑level containment systems for air, water, and power, followed by full reconnection of all previously disconnected services, including LEV systems. Electrical and mechanical works were tightly integrated, allowing reinstatement to progress efficiently and safely.
Commissioning was completed in line with agreed transfer checklists, validating machine connections and confirming readiness for restart. We also provided all required certification, including conformity and calibration documentation, ensuring compliance and full visibility for the client.
Specialist Equipment
Our ability to supply lifting plant, specialist equipment, and transportation in‑house gave us full control over the logistics and sequencing of each relocation phase. This removed reliance on third‑party availability and allowed us to adapt quickly to changing site conditions, supporting a smooth transition into the new facility.
Expertise Behind the Delivery
The project was delivered by a dedicated team of up to 20 operatives, including experienced supervisors, foremen, mechanical fitters, electricians, and riggers. Our people were central to the success of the programme, bringing deep experience in aerospace environments, strong safety leadership, and a clear understanding of the importance of precision and compliance.
By managing both the technical delivery and stakeholder coordination internally, we maintained consistent standards, clear communication, and full accountability throughout the project lifecycle. Our collaborative approach, combined with our in‑house capability, ensured the successful consolidation of five manufacturing facilities into a single, future‑ready aerospace site.
This project further strengthened our relationship with Meggitt and Parker Hannifin, reinforcing our position as their Preferred Supplier and supporting continued works at Ansty Park and other UK locations.
