Factory RELOCATION

As an experienced factory relocation company, we’ve helped a large number of clients relocate their manufacturing plants within the UK and overseas whilst minimising disruption to production and ensuring a high level of safety and compliance throughout.

In addition to offering efficient and cost-effective factory relocation services, we specialise in heavy machinery moving. During the relocation process, we aim to maximise productivity and avoid any potential disruption to your operations to minimise the impact it has on your business.

Experts in
Factory Relocation Projects

We provide a full factory relocation service to assist you in moving your existing production lines, machinery or equipment to the new site, whether this is in the UK or overseas.

For all our factory relocations, we work closely in partnership with our client’s Engineering and Production teams, going beyond a basic Lift and shift to provide technical guidance and flexible solutions to help minimise operational downtime and consolidate production lines.

Safety is at the heart of how we operate and our core priority for every machinery move, production line relocation and factory relocation. From our decades of experience, controlled working practices, and regulatory compliance, we have attained an outstanding safety record.

Before we carry out any production line relocations or moving machinery or equipment, we carry out a full health & safety planning phase. This includes Risk Assessments (RAMS), Method Statements, Job Safety Plans, and any relevant safety training. In addition, we undertake regular health & safety meetings with all project members (this is often carried out weekly or monthly).

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you coordinate a factory relocation across multiple UK or international sites?

We assign a dedicated Project Manager to oversee every stage of a multi-site transition. Our process begins with a comprehensive ‘Asset Audit’, where every piece of plant and machinery is tagged and tracked for total accountability. We then synchronise the decommissioning at your old site with the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) preparations at the new facility, ensuring that equipment arrives in the correct sequence for immediate re-installation and commissioning.

For international projects, we work in close partnership with AIS Eurelo to coordinate complex cross-border relocations. As both AIS Eurelo and AIS VIG Industrial are part of the same group, our clients benefit from an extended global capability and a vast resource network. This synergy allows us to manage large-scale international moves while keeping service and safety standards perfectly consistent across borders.

Yes. We specialise in “restricted access” moves. Our fleet includes hydraulic gantry systems and low-profile Versa-Lifts specifically designed for indoor environments where traditional cranes cannot operate. By using load-spreading plates and specialist air-skates, we can navigate heavy machinery through narrow factory gangways and over delicate flooring without causing structural damage.

VIG provides a full technical documentation pack for every factory move. This includes site-specific RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), lifting plans approved by our “Appointed Persons” under LOLER, and equipment test certificates. We ensure our operations align with CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations, acting as a principal contractor or specialist subcontractor as required.
